Legrand | AV Introduces New Mounting Accessory and Networking Component for On-Q Plastic Structured Wiring Enclosures

Legrand AC106A6MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — April 9, 2020 — With orders to stay at home in effect across the world, a reliable home network connection has never been more important, whether it’s for the home office, video chatting with friends and family, or streaming online content. To help support a strong network connection, Legrand | AV today introduced a new mounting plate accessory and network interface module for its On-Q plastic structured wiring enclosures. For wired and wireless low-voltage systems, the AC1050 five-inch mounting plate allows a variety of third-party devices to be mounted into the enclosures. Designed to connect a Wi-Fi router or switch to wired networking locations throughout the home, the six-port AC106A6 network interface module delivers reliable networking with maximum data throughput.

“Our mounting plates and network interface modules allow installers to take full advantage of our new On-Q plastic structured wiring enclosures,” said Nathan Bartholomew, vice president and general manager for Legrand | AV, On-Q, SANUS, and AV Retail. “Simple to install, the AC1050 offers the flexibility to accommodate all the components that drive low-voltage services and systems throughout the home, while the AC106A6 provides a reliable, wired network connection for high-speed devices. The result is a rock-solid backbone for today’s connected home, all packed in one convenient location.”

Teaming up with the rack and cable management experts at Middle Atlantic Products, a fellow Legrand brand, the AC1050’s mounting hole pattern design is inspired by the Middle Atlantic Lever Lock™ System for small AV devices, providing flexible mounting options for third-party components. The mounting plate is constructed from durable, Wi-Fi transparent ABS plastic and can be mounted vertically or horizontally (half-width) within On-Q’s plastic enclosures to fit any configuration. The unit has 1.5 inches of elevation to support mounting devices on both sides of the plate, freeing up space in the enclosure and accommodating protruding devices like antennas. The unit includes three feet of hook and loop VELCRO® strapping to safely secure wired and wireless devices.

Providing support for Cat 6a cable connections, the AC106A6 network interface module terminates up to six data lines to connect high-speed devices like computers, smart TVs, gaming systems, and network streaming devices to the home network. The unit mounts seamlessly in On-Q plastic enclosures and provides easy access to front-mounted 110-IDC terminals and RJ45 connectors. UL-listed and designed to exceed the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 industry standards, the AC106A6’s brackets are made of reinforced plastic to support proper punch-down terminations and maintain Wi-Fi transparency.
