L Acoustics

L-Acoustics announced several new products today that will be shown at ISE and InfoComm: the LA7.16i amplified controller, the Soka loudspeaker, the SB6i subwoofer and the L-ISA Ambiance virtual acoustics enhancement system. They will be on display at ISE stand #7Q400, Hall 7, and InfoComm booth W3011, along with other L-Acoustics products.

The new LA7.16i is an amplified controller that offers a 16×16 architecture in a 2U chassis with Milan-AVB redundancy. Each of the 16 output channels delivers up to 1300 watts at 8 ohms or 1100 watts at 4 ohms. LA7.16i will be on ISE Stand #7Q400 in Hall 7, and at InfoComm booth W3011. It’s supposed to ship in Q3 2022.

Soka RALSoka is a new colinear loudspeaker that combines line source technology with a sleek aesthetic. Soka integrates nine 3.5” MF drivers and three 1” HF transducers to impart a wide 140-degree horizontal coupled with a highly controlled 26-degree vertical directivity. Soka and SB6i are an ultra-shallow 3.9 inches/99 millimeters, designed to be easily enclosed in-wall or discreetly mounted on-wall. Soka will ship in Q1 2023. It’s not yet on L-Acoustics’ website.

The SB6i sub is the companion subwoofer for the Soka speaker. UItra-compact but powerful, the SB6i offers two 6.5” neodymium LF drivers and the L-Acoustics Laminar vent technology found in the company’s concert-grade reference subwoofers. The 4-ohm enclosure can operate down to 29 Hz and produce as much as 114 dB, via two presets, matching coupled or decoupled configuration with the main system. It will ship in Q3 of this year.

The L-ISA Ambiance virtual acoustics enhancement system uses L-Acoustics loudspeaker systems, microphones, and an advanced 3D Room Engine powered by the L-ISA Processor II. Ambiance empowers acousticians, theater and audio-visual consultants, composers, and sound designers to transform the acoustic properties and qualities of a venue space to match the desired atmosphere. L-ISA Ambiance will be demonstrated at InfoComm in Demo Room W209. A beta version is currently being used by a select number of pilot projects. The public version will be available in Q1 2023.
