Joan officially announces its collaboration with Amazon Alexa for Business and Cisco Webex for the kick-off of the Enterprise Connect expo in Orlando, Fla. on Monday March 18, 2019.

This collaboration brings together Joan and two of the most used communication smart devices in the world to offer high-end integrated solutions for the workplace. Companies will be able to fit Joan into its existing infrastructure and control their meeting rooms by simply using their voice with Alexa or via chat bot on Webex. This will help employees find, book and manage meeting rooms simply and efficiently to avoid time waste and to maximize productivity.

Currently, a handful of companies in the U.S. are using the new Alexa skill and are taking advantage of voice activated functions like “Alexa, is this room free?,” “Alexa, reserve the room for [duration]” or “Alexa, book this room at [time].” These functions empower the users by giving them full control over meeting rooms both from the inside (with Alexa) and the outside (with Joan).

Also, with the implementation of a Joan bot in the Webex application, companies that already use Cisco’s solution for online meetings, whiteboarding and file sharing will now be able to book, manage and extend meetings via chat.

According to Gartner, 25 percent of digital workers will use virtual employee assistants daily by 2021, which makes this collaboration between Joan, Alexa for Business and Cisco Webex an important milestone for the future of the smart office.

Joan will demo its integration with Cisco’s Webex on March 18th and with Amazon’s Alexa on March 20th at the Enterprise Connect in Orlando, Fla.
