JBL Professional Debuts JBL-LCT 81C/TM Lay-In Ceiling Tile Speaker

JBL LCT 81C TM.

JBL Professional debuted the JBL-LCT 81C/TM, a broad-range metric lay-in ceiling tile speaker. This is a metric version of the LCT 81C/T 2-feet-by-2-feet lay-in ceiling tile speaker. Sized to fit standard 600-millimeter x 600-millimeter metric ceiling grids, this ceiling speaker is designed for classrooms, offices, paging systems, airports, retail stores and anywhere that speech and music clarity are critical for an in-ceiling system.

JBL-LCT 81C/TM Key Features:

  • 200 mm (8-inch) dual-dome driver delivers 100-degree dispersion.
  • 103 mm (4.1-inch)-deep profile for installation in shallow ceilings with HVAC ducts or other obstructions.
  • 25 mm (1-inch) voice coil delivers superior intelligibility.
  • Quick and easy installation: Remove a standard 600 mm x 600 mm ceiling tile and lay the JBL-LCT 81C/TM in its place.
  • Can be used with 70V or 100V distributed speaker systems.

Also debuted with this product is the JBL-MTC-CSTeth1 Ceiling Speaker Grille Safety Tether. The tether is intended to catch it and keep it from falling to the ground where it could otherwise cause damage or harm. The tether consists of a short length of flammability-rated aramid tether cord and an adhesive tab. The end of the thread attaches through the perf holes on the press-in grille, and the tab has a peel-off adhesive, making it easy for the installer to stick it onto the speaker baffle.
