Top Three Reasons Integrators Should Consider Spec’ing Zoom Rooms
In case you live under a rock and don’t know, Zoom released a ton of new products, capabilities and technologies at Zoomtopia 2019. We have a round-up here.
Zoom followed up on that big announcement Tuesday with a webinar that focused on the company’s releases and how they can be useful to everyone in AV. But read carefully integrators, these can be extremely useful to you in particular, and here’s how:
- Zoom Rooms now have native control integration. We all know that integrators want to provide a streamlined AV experience to the end-user — and native control is the perfect way to do that. Why would a business executive wish to have separate controls for Zoom Rooms, AC and lights in their conference room when they’d have the opportunity for installation of all three via one device? That’s where you come in to offer this as a solution. Zoom estimates this service will be available by the end of 2019.
- “Find a Room” map integration. A constant complaint of anyone in a corporate office is that no one seems to know how to properly schedule use of that office’s meeting room, conference room or huddle space. Zoom’s solution to this dilemma? Upload a map (in JPEG or PNG format) and select any available time of that day, find a room on your floor and book it with the scheduling display controller.
- Integration, Integration, Integration. Don’t you love that word? It makes life easier for everyone when an AV solution has capabilities with multiple apps that different types of customers may use. According to Zoom, Zoom Rooms will have new capabilities that work in conjunction with Microsoft, G Suite, Dropbox, Box, Slack, Salesforce and ServiceNow. Aka — Zoom is providing an option that rivals Microsoft Teams by creating so many integrations.
Zoom has added capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, location-based services, face detection and personalization to its platform too. These will mainly affect Zoom Meetings and Zoom Rooms.
So, basically, what I’m saying is that if you’re not looking at Zoom to fulfill the ever-changing needs of clients and customers, then you might be missing out on the chance to make life easier for all parties involved. After all, according to Gary Kayye, Zoom is the Apple of the AV industry.
