InfoComm 2013 is just TWO WEEKS away and the Women in AV are so excited to join our colleagues, peers, and especially, our fellow WAVE for the second year of amazing AV, networking, and seeing all the new things our industry has to offer!!

InfoComm12 will always be very special being the first show we attended as a group and we could not have done it without the incredibly generous and amazing support of our sponsors and partners.  At least once a day, I found myself thinking, “Is this really happening — are we really raising the level of women in our industry in such a way that things will never be the same?!”  And, the answer every time was YES and YES!

This year’s InfoComm already feels the same and BETTER! Last year, we didn’t know what to expect and truly were winging it. This year, we’ve had an equally amazing response to our events and our sponsors and partners have continued to BLOW US away with the level of support and encouragement they have for the women in our industry!

There is still time to register for either the reception or luncheon, but, space is running out and you need to sign-up before they sell out!

We will again, be supporting and collecting money for a local women’s shelter that works to help women in the local Orlando are. Thanks to FSR’s President Jan Sandri, we will be supporting the Salvation Army’s Orlando Women’s and Children’s Shelter who provides services for homeless and at-risk women and families to seek gainful employment and attend Life Management Classes, including money management, good job interviewing skills, dressing for success and economic grocery shopping.

None of this would be possible and ALL our special WAVE Thank YOU goes to our supporters and sponsors!  Please stop by and visit them and say THANK YOU for inspiring and elevating the women in our industry!

Get together with your WAVE colleagues for a networking and informative lunch to meet other women in the AV industry and learn from industry leading experts about advancing your professional and personal development.

We’ll enjoy each other’s company; have lunch, share stories, successes, and challenges on being a female in a male-dominated industry.

Think, Act, and Talk Like a Leader is our theme and industry experts will speak to the importance of personal presence, networking, and branding as it relates specifically to women and how we can develop the skills and character traits to take the next step in our career.  Hear from women who have risen to the top of their markets and learn how they did it.

  • Elena Novikova, CEO at Polymedia
  • Cory Schaeffer, Co-Founder and Vice President of Listen Technologies

WAVE will launch our new 2013 initiative, Developing Local WAVE Chapters.  Attendees who are interested will learn about the who, what, when, and why about starting programs to bring together and meet WAVE in your local area and how to get involved in efforts to bring more frequent and personal involvement in your local community.

Verrex Corporation’s, Theresa Hahn, Director of Marketing and Business Development, will lead us through the goals, processes, and opportunities that we have available to get to know each other on a more frequent and local level.

MOST Important, don’t miss NSCA’s Drunk Unkles charity concert!!

Thursday, June 13, 2013 ~ 9-11pm EDT

BB King’s Blues Club, details and how to get tickets here!

In its 8th year of support for the Foundation, the Drunk Unkles event has raised more than a half of million dollars. The contributions and sponsorships toward this event allow the NSCA Education Foundation to provide scholarships and training opportunities for both new professionals to the industry as well as veterans looking to expand their business within the industry.

WAVE will Tweet-up at the concert too!

THANK YOU to AVI-SPL for sponsoring the AV equipment for our WAVE events and to Media Vision USA for sponsoring all our materials and the coolest badge ribbons ever!!

Finally, to our biggest partner ALL year long, all our THANKS to rAVe [Publications] for not only continuing to support WAVE, but, making sure our entire industry gets a platform to have their message and products heard!! It’s easy to see and stay up with all the latest blogs, videos, news, and industry leading podcasts coming from the show by simply following rAVeNow On-Demand.

And, you have to brush up on your skills for THE GAME 4 whether you are attending InfoComm or not, you can win. And, we are pretty competitive, so, you will want to be sure you are well prepared so us ladies don’t take all the best prizes!!

We’ll also have special WAVEcasts, interviews, and news coming live from rAVe during the show, so you need to stay tuned.

Don’t miss any of these chances to get together and meet fellow WAVE and AV Gents from near and far! Opportunities like these are the basis for friendships and professional contacts that last a lifetime beyond the amazing AV technology we’ll see and try.

Orlando or BUST — we’ll see everyone there!!
