InfoComm Rebadges Certified AudioVisual Solutions Provider (CAVSP)

InfoComm International is changing the name of its program designed to recognize companies that invest in certification and education for its employees.

The Audiovisual Solutions Provider program will be changing its name back to the Certified Audiovisual Solutions Provider program as of Feb. 9. Other changes to the program infocomm-CAVSP-0212will be made effective July 1.

There are three levels of CAVSP:

  • Diamond CAVSP, 50 percent of all technical, sales and customer service staff must have and maintain general or advanced CTS certification. Of the 50 percent, 15 percent must have advanced CTS designation. A minimum of one advanced CTS is required.
  • Emerald CAVSP, 35 percent of all technical, sales and customer service staff must have and maintain general or advanced CTS certification.
  • Sapphire CAVSP, 25 percent of all technical, sales and customer service staff must have and maintain general or advanced CTS.

“In addition to new logos, there will be a greater marketing investment to promote the designation to key purchasing and end-user communities, and a new Audiovisual Systems Performance Verification Checklist that companies can elect to use,” says Duffy Wilbert, CTS, CAE, senior vice president, InfoComm International.

The checklist is intended to provide owners, consultants, and integrators with a comprehensive and singular source of tests to determine if the audiovisual system achieves the client’s goals or objectives and that the system performs in accordance with the best practices of the industry. By providing this list to the audiovisual industry, InfoComm is establishing a set of guidelines to help industry professionals and their clients communicate effectively about their expectations for system performance. InfoComm plans to obtain ANSI accreditation of the Checklist in 2012. At that time, the Checklist may be modified for current best practices.
