THE #1 AV NEWS PUBLICATION. PERIOD.

InfoComm from the Booth

I have been reading some people’s reviews of InfoComm and I have to admit, I’m a little jealous that I no longer get much time to walk the floor while I’m at the show.

Being a bit of an AV Geek, I miss seeing new products, looking for new trends, and connecting dots in a way that perhaps few others have.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my current role, but working for a manufacturer in their booth at the show definitely changes the experience.

For those that have never worked for a manufacturer, I thought I’d relay my show experience by giving a quick rundown of my adventures.

As you can see, a manufacturer’s booth and client entertainment schedule leaves little time for exploration.  The last few years I’ve had to rely on trade publications, blogs from industry peers, and post InfoComm chatter to get a good feel for what was happening on the floor outside of my square of double padded carpet.  That takes a couple weeks to sort out, but I think I’m almost there.

There were some changes happening on the floor this year and there are some things I wish had been on the floor but just weren’t.

With that, stay tuned for my InfoComm follow-up blog coming shortly!
