IC25 Behind the booth JOAN (1)

Behind the Booth at InfoComm 2025 gives you a front-row seat to the people and products shaping the show floor. In this sponsored series, we sit down with top executives from InfoComm exhibitors to find out what they’re showcasing, which trends they’re watching and how they’re pushing the ProAV industry forward. This interview features Monte L. McGuire of Joan.

Q: Why is Joan exhibiting at InfoComm 2025, and what are you most excited to showcase this year?

A: InfoComm is the place to be for anyone in the AV industry. We’ve been attending for years — typically alongside our distributor, Exertis Almo — and it continues to be the key event for discovering new tech, spotting trends, and strengthening connections across the industry.

This year, however, is a particularly big moment for us. With Joan Workplace, a brand of Visionect, we’re stepping into a new era. What started as the world’s most elegant room booking solution has grown into a complete workplace platform. We now cover everything from desk booking and parking reservations to visitor management, workplace digital signage, and advanced analytics — designed to bring clarity and simplicity to modern work environments.

At booth 1615, visitors will get a hands-on look at our full ecosystem: from our intuitive software to our signature ePaper devices. We’re especially excited to show off the Joan 13 Pro — our latest and largest display, with a touchscreen and multiple functions in one sleek, energy-efficient device — as well as our latest integrations with partners like Crestron.

It’s all about simplifying the workplace management, reservations, and communication in an intuitive, efficient, and seamless way. In order to create the best possible workplace experience for the employees.

Q: What trends do you expect to see dominating the show floor, and how is your company positioned to lead or respond to them?

A: The AV world is shifting fast — and this year, we expect to see a strong focus on unified workplace experiences, energy-efficient solutions, and smarter, data-driven environments. Flexibility is no longer a nice-to-have; it’s a standard. And that means organizations are looking for integrated systems that adapt to their hybrid work models while simplifying infrastructure.

That’s exactly where Joan is positioned to lead. With Joan Workplace, we offer an all-in-one platform that brings together room and desk booking, parking and asset reservations, visitor management, workplace digital signage, and workplace analytics—designed to streamline operations while enhancing the employee and guest experience.

From an AV perspective, we see a growing demand for displays that are not only sleek and modern but also sustainable. Our wireless, ultra-low-power ePaper devices are a perfect fit. They deliver high visibility without the energy draw of traditional displays—and they look great in any space. Plus, our latest Joan 13 Pro adds an interactive layer, bringing touch functionality to a large-format screen without compromising on aesthetics or efficiency.

We’re also seeing more emphasis on interoperability and ease of deployment — two areas where our collaboration with partners like Crestron really shines. Whether you’re scaling across one office or many, Joan is built to integrate easily and expand effortlessly.

Q: Which new products, solutions or updates are you featuring — and how do they address current needs in the AV industry?

At InfoComm 2025, we’re showcasing the evolution of Joan into a full-scale workplace platform—designed to meet the growing demand for integrated, flexible, and energy-efficient solutions.

On the hardware side, we’re featuring Joan 13 Pro — our largest, most powerful ePaper device yet. With a touchscreen interface and multi-functional scheduling, it brings interactivity to the elegance and sustainability Joan is known for.

New highlights include advanced workplace analytics, helping organizations make smarter decisions based on real-time usage patterns. We’re also introducing QR code-based desk booking, location-aware notifications, and expanded Joan Room functionality through our My Joan portal — all built to enhance usability and support hybrid work at scale.

Q: How is your company supporting integrators and end users in navigating today’s biggest AV challenges — not just at InfoComm, but year-round?

A: We’re proud to offer solutions that make life easier for integrators — starting with devices that are simple to install, even in places where traditional room schedulers would be a challenge. Our wireless, magnet-mounted displays connect over Wi-Fi and integrate seamlessly with calendar platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Webex. That means faster installations, fewer labor overruns, and better project margins. On top of that, we provide responsive support and a dedicated Partner Portal with training videos, Q&As, and helpful resources to keep projects moving smoothly.

For end users, the value only grows. If they have an in-house AV team, setup is just as straightforward. Our intuitive room scheduling software includes advanced analytics that offer insight into room usage, meeting frequency, ghost bookings, and occupancy trends—helping teams make smarter, more informed decisions. And just like for our partners, we offer a user portal packed with training, updates, and support tools.

Best of all, Joan goes beyond room scheduling. Our full workplace management solution includes desk booking, asset and parking reservations, visitor management, and workplace digital signage — everything organizations need to manage their space more efficiently and support focused, productive work.

Q: Why should InfoComm 2025 attendees make a point to stop by your booth?

A: This is your chance to start making your workplace run smarter. Booth 1615 is where it all comes together. Joan combines top-tier ePaper displays with intuitive solutions that streamline bookings, space management, and everyday operations—so your team can focus on their best work, not logistics.
