For years, I have been told that COMM-TEC’s Solutions Day (the year’s being branded as S14) is the best regional AV event in the EMEA. Of course, as you all know, COMM-TEC is the leading pan-European distribution partner of AV/IT technology and carries the top brands in the industry and I have been an admirer of the COMM-TEC founder, Wolfgang Lenz, for over 20 years when I first met him while setting up Extron’s Operations in Europe in the early 1990’s. Wolfgang is an industry icon — not just in Europe, but worldwide.

Thus, when Wolfgang reached out to me this summer and asked if I would be a speaker at S14, I jumped at the chance.

My topic? The Future of AV, of course! I am very focused on helping the AV integrator stay relevant and in the lead when it comes to building, maintaining and servicing AV/IT technology — so this is an opportunity to make sure that EMEA integrators know what’s coming in technology over the next few years that may effect their businesses and how to leverage it to help their clients. My keynote is Wednesday, 30 September at 0900 hrs and I hope that you will attend.

But, my session is followed by some amazing speakers and seminars — all of them can be seen here. I know many of these presenters personally and I look forward to what they have to say — I will be paying special attention to the Barco ClickShare session (as they invented the BYOB space in AV) and there are sessions on picking an LCD vs a Projector and when you use one or the other, IP-based AV signal distribution, videoconferencing and even an guided tour of the exhibition hall from 13:00 to 14:30. At the end of the day, I am speaking again — this time on the impact of 4K in our market.
