Ian Bryant Takes Tech and Innovation Position With CEDIA

CEDIA has named Ian Bryant senior director of technology application and innovation. A veteran of more than two decades in custom AV and integration, Bryant runs the Indianapolis office of Detroit-based ZenArray. The company specializes in consulting, design, programming and installation services. His background includes serving as a technology subcontractor for residential, corporate, government and hospitality projects.

“We’ve become familiar with Ian’s high level of performance for more than 10 years through his volunteer efforts and contract work with CEDIA, as well as the industry expertise and involvement he’s provided,” said CEDIA Global President and Chief Executive Officer Tabatha O’Connor. “He’s the right addition to bolster the CEDIA staff, especially in education and certification.”

Bryant’s new role with CEDIA involves close collaboration inside and outside the global organization. Responsibilities include: serving as CEDIA’s technology education working group liaison; active involvement with CEDIA’s Technology and Standards department to develop new content for education; and functioning as the staff lead on all technology associated with CEDIA Headquarters. Bryant is the 2017 CEDIA Volunteer of the Year and 2011 CEDIA Education Volunteer of the Year. He has served as a subject matter expert for the organization since 2008. Bryant will continue to provide his expertise in multiple arenas, including participating in the ANSI/ISO/IEC standards committee for education. Bryant has spent three years as CEDIA Awards chair and has been a judge since 2008.

“I can’t think of a more exciting time to be joining CEDIA,” Bryant said. “As a long-time member and volunteer, I’m excited about the direction CEDIA is heading and look forward to bringing my experience to bear by working closely with industry partners and the organization to drive innovation.” Bryant has spent more than a year consulting with the organization on all aspects of building technology in the new CEDIA headquarters — designing, engineering, programming and managing all AV integration in the high-tech facility.
