i-PRO Launches AI-Integrated Outdoor Security Radar for High-Security Sites

i-PRO Co., Ltd., formerly Panasonic Security, has introduced its i-PRO Security Radar, a millimeter wave-based detection system designed to strengthen perimeter protection in critical environments such as power plants, airports, data centers and remote infrastructure sites.
Operating on advanced 60GHz millimeter wave technology, the Security Radar can integrate with up to four AI-enabled i-PRO PTZ cameras for synchronized detection and visual tracking. The system delivers a 180-degree field of view with detection ranges up to 70 meters (230 feet) for people and 100 meters (328 feet) for vehicles, maintaining accuracy in low light, heavy rain and fog.
“Our new Security Radar sets a new benchmark for outdoor monitoring, combining high accuracy radar, vision, and smart tracking,” said Gerard Figols, chief operating officer at i-PRO. “For operators of infrastructure and unmanned facilities, this means fewer false alarms, faster response times, and unmatched reliability in mission-critical environments.”
The system supports both operator-assisted and autonomous modes, allowing security teams to customize deployment based on staffing and operational needs. In remote or unmanned settings, the radar enables intelligent, automated monitoring that maintains situational awareness without constant human oversight.
i-PRO designed the Security Radar for seamless integration with major video management systems (VMS), including Genetec, Milestone and VideoInsight. It is fully compatible with Genetec’s Restricted Security Area (RSA) surveillance module, enabling centralized control, advanced analytics and automated workflows within the Genetec platform.
When the radar detects a moving object, it can relay precise location data to connected PTZ cameras, which automatically track the subject for visual confirmation. Security operators can define no-entry zones and receive real-time alerts with visual verification, enhancing accuracy and reducing false positives across large or complex facilities.
The system also includes installation support via a built-in camera and tablet interface that helps align the radar detection zone. Designed for harsh environments, the Security Radar offers a corrosion-resistant coastal model and carries FIPS 140-3 Level 3 cybersecurity certification, ensuring hardware-level data protection suitable for regulated industries.
The i-PRO Security Radar will be available in January 2026 in the United States, Canada, Japan and New Zealand, with rollout in Vietnam expected by April 2026.
