HP’s new 55-inch native 1920×1080 resolution LED-lit LCD display debuted today at the DSE show in Las Vegas along with a new media player. HP’s widest “commercial-grade” LED display, the 55-inch HP LD5535, includes IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel technology that enables 178-degree viewing angles. Content management is handled via the network to a built-in USB player (a Video-over-Ethernet USB player — similar to Samsung’s Smart Signage system) and/or an HDMI port.
The new players include the HP MP9 Model 9000 and HP MP4 Model 4200 – the smallest and thinnest digital media players in HP’s portfolio. Capable of being VESA mounted, the players support displays horizontally or vertically from under a counter, on a wall, inside a kiosk or behind a display. Both output via HDMI.
