Hall Research Releases New 4K@60Hz HDMI Fiber Optic Extender
Hall Research debuted the FXT-460, an entry-level fiber optic extender for full-bandwidth HDMI 2.0 to 10 kilometers. It uses just one strand of LC-terminated fiber optic cable and supports video resolutions up to 4K@60Hz with multi-channel audio. The system provides capabilities such as embedding and de-embedding analog or digital audio, HDCP 2.2, bidirectional RS232 extension and EDID management. It supports both single-mode (to 10 kilometers) and multi-mode (to 300 meters) fiber.
The FXT-460 Transmitter has an HDMI input (as well as an HDMI loop output), and audio is extracted from the HDMI input and available as both analog (L/R) and Digital SPDIF (TOSLINK) on corresponding connectors. The Receiver has an HDMI output along with extended RS232 and extracted audio in both 3.5-millimeter stereo analog and TOSLINK digital formats.
Here’s a video we shot of it at InfoComm 2019:
