“No other nonlinear production solution on the market offers as comprehensive a set of production tools in one application as GV STRATUS,” said Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President Marketing, Grass Valley. “This version includes increased functionality, plug-in support for use with Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC, an interface with the popular Telestream Vantage® transcoding family of products, as well as enabling migration of database information from legacy Avid systems. These new features build upon the already robust offerings of GV STRATUS so newsrooms and media organizations can have the flexibility and control they need for high quality productions.”
GV STRATUS is a full set of tools in one workspace, offering end-to-end support for all aspects of news and production delivery in one framework. It supports ingest, editing, content aggregation, logging, transfer, and playout and it integrates with the K2 Summit® media server to offer an expandable foundation for new applications and workflows. It will be released in Q3 2013 and publically demonstrated for the first time at IBC 2013.
New for GV STRATUS:
Multisite capabilities. The new Multisite function connects multiple GV STRATUS sites, regardless of distance, and allows users to browse remote content and share resources. Multisite works across low bandwidth and high latency networks and also enables K2 Dyno® (with K2 Summit®) systems in OB trucks to be seen by other GV STRATUS sites as yet another site. This compatibility lets users work more closely with remote replay operators by supporting low resolution editing of replays on-site, or the transfer of replays shot from the truck to the home facility.
Plug-in for use with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Taking full advantage of the open editing platform provided by K2 storage, GV STRATUS is now available with a plug-in for use with Adobe Premiere Pro CC for advanced editing and program creation. With one click, users of Adobe Premiere Pro CC can access shared storage and connect to the GV STRATUS database, tapping into the powerful assets managed by GV STRATUS. This guarantees the user a higher quality of editing capabilities regardless of whether they are on a Mac or a PC.
“Grass Valley’s new GV STRATUS with support for Adobe Premiere Pro CC gives users a new level of advanced editing,” said Simon Williams, Director of Strategic Relations at Adobe. “Used in combination with our powerful video editing software, newsrooms, media organizations and professional editors can now tap into a vast pool of shared resources that equip them with the most sophisticated, high-quality production workflow and content creation tools available today.”
Interfaces with Telestream Vantage. Version includes an expanded Transcode Control Engine that allows customers to use Telestream’s popular Vantage transcoding family of products for exports and OTT workflows. Adding to the GV STRATUS existing Harmonic ProMedia encoder support, customers now have a broader choice of transcoding solutions for publishing content to the Web and other non-broadcast destinations.
Enables Avid migration. Grass Valley is taking its unmatched support for a wide variety of vendors’ non-linear editing products even farther by allowing Avid editing users to enjoy seamless edit-in-place performance with their existing editors on GV STRATUS systems. This capability is part of a comprehensive set of tools aimed at helping Avid customers preserve their skillsets and assets that will include a utility to migrate Avid database contents into GV STRATUS.
Grass Valley will be exhibiting at IBC in Amsterdam, Sept 13th – 17th, 2013 on stand #1.D11, Hall 1.
