grassvalley87Hillsboro, Ore., September 13, 2013 — Grass Valley® announces the launch of EDIUSWorld.com, a new online resource for its recently released EDIUS® 7 nonlinear video editing application. The site contains a wealth of product information on EDIUS 7 as well as a comprehensive ‘Edification’ section that includes almost three hours of new instructional videos from EDIUS experts around the world on key topics such as craft editing, cinematography, DSLR filmmaking, film grain, plugins, and 3D production.

Visitors to the site’s ‘Edification’ section will find several engaging video tutorials, including one from cinematographer Matthew Scott who discusses the 4K workflow with EDIUS. Scott examines everything from ingest, editing, processing, and color correcting to finishing and delivering the final product. In the ‘7 Cool Things About EDIUS 7’ section, producer/director Maxim Jago demonstrates creative uses for the Layouter feature, fast color correction fixes, how to manage speed changes, and more.

“With our recent launch of EDIUS 7, we’re responding to the evolving needs of broadcasters and post-production professionals for a flexible nonlinear video editing solution,” said Steve Wise, Director Channel Marketing at Grass Valley. “Our new EDIUSWorld.com site serves as an invaluable resource for EDIUS 7 users around the world to enable them to tap into its powerful capabilities to the fullest extent and in future revisions share ideas and creativity.”

EDIUS is a widely used nonlinear editing solution for those working on fast turn production in broadcast news, news magazine, and studio program content, as well as professional video editors working on organizational, documentary, and 4K theatrical productions. EDIUS 7, announced in July with shipping in August, is a native 64-bit application for Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems and is now open to third-party input and output hardware from Blackmagic Design and Matrox with support for AJA Video Systems hardware.

Users who have purchased EDIUS Pro 6.5 or hardware bundles including EDIUS Pro 6.5 from June 1, 2013 onward are eligible for a free upgrade to EDIUS 7. EDIUS 7 will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at IBC 2013 at Grass Valley’s stand, #1.D11, Hall 1.
