Behind the Stand at ISE 2025: An Interview With Google’s Quentin Esterhuizen

This interview is with Google’s Quentin Esterhuizen, product management lead – Google Meet hardware.
Q: Why is Google exhibiting at ISE this year?
A: As ISE is the premier event for the UC industry, it is an important forum to connect with our customers and partners at scale.The Google Meet team has chosen this event to have a physical presence so that our customers and partners can have a hands-on, in-person experience of the AI capabilities we are bringing to enable more intelligent and inclusive meeting experiences.
Q: What trends do you think we’ll see on the show floor and how is your company positioned to capitalize on these opportunities?
A:AI will play a big role on the show floor this year, and Google is well positioned with our various offerings from Gemini integration with Workspace to keep users focused on the meeting, to improving representation in hybrid meetings with Dynamic tiles.
Beyond AI, providing customers with more hardware flexibility and choice to outfit their conference rooms will be important, as they want to make smart investments for their environment.
Q: What new products or solutions are you showcasing at ISE and how do they address current industry challenges?
A: We are showcasing several great solutions:
- Meaningful AI integration with take notes for me, which lets users focus on the meetings and easily delegate minutes to Gemini
- Enhancing representation in meetings with dynamic tiles and dynamic layouts, which gives people in the meeting their own individual video tile, and lets everyone in call be well represented in the meeting layout and reducing meeting fatigue.
- It really is about making every meeting experience the best it can be for both remote and in-room participants.
Q: How is your company expanding its global presence besides exhibiting at ISE 2025?
A: Google has multiple marketing moments like I/O, where we showcase our consumer innovation, and Google Cloud NEXT, where we showcase our enterprise innovations. For 2025, Google Cloud NEXT will have regional events which will make it easier than ever to see all of the amazing things Google Cloud is developing. On the hardware side, we attend other industry events and have our own roadshows through Europe.
Q: Why should ISE 2025 attendees visit your booth?
A: Visiting our stand gives you first-hand experience to see how Gemini in Google Meet can enhance your meeting experience with features like ‘take notes for me’ and translated captions. . We are part of the larger Google presence at ISE, so there is also a chance to see Project Starline, Google’s experiential video communication technology, as well as the latest and greatest from ChromeOS.
