FSR’s Launches DR-EDID at InfoComm 2018

FSR is launching a host of solutions at InfoComm this year, ranging from DR (Doctor) EDID – a device that allows the manipulation of information for simplified integration, to USB and HDBaseT extender systems, to new ribbon cables and a presentation switcher. FSR’s booth is at C2128.

The DR-EDID Emulator is designed to manipulate the EDID information provided to a connected HDMI source or any device connected prior to the unit in the HDMI chain. The DR-EDID is a unique self-powered bidirectional device that can be inserted onto either end of any HDMI cable. EDID refers to a block of information that is passed from the far end of your signal chain, normally the display, to the first device or source. This EDID contains critical information about the capabilities of the connected display, including audio and video format support, HDMI feature support, etc. This device allows the installer to simply and quickly modify the information with a rotary switch to select between 16 pre-installed settings or copy the EDID from any device. This will simplify troubleshooting the technical challenges that often arise when performing video system integration or when left in place, permanently set the EDID of the system.

FSR is introducing two USB 2.0 Extender systems at InfoComm that extend high-speed USB 2.0 connections up to 100m using CAT 5e/6/7 with the option to power either the host or device extender. The systems are Ideal for extending USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice, interactive whiteboards, flash drives, hard drives, audio devices, web cameras and any other USB device. They feature mass storage acceleration for USB 2.0 device bulk transfers, transparent USB extensions, plug and play setup with no software drivers required, support for throughputs of up to 480 Mbps and work with all major operating systems, including Windows, macOS and Linux.

Available in two models, the USB-EXT-1 extends one USB signal, while the USB-EXT-2 extends one USB signal to two USB ports. Both units supply up to one Amp to each USB port. USB-EXT-2 is FCC/CE Class B certified.

The HD-H704K-SP 70-meter compressed transmitter and receiver is capable of 4K @ 60Hz 4:4:4 HDR (HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2) over CAT-X cable. The system is powered from a single power supply via its bi-directional PoE function. The Extenders can control the source from the display’s location or vice versa via the IR pass-through or bi-directional RS-232 control functions. The transmitter and receiver modules are easy to install and space saving. The Extenders are ideal for home, office, digital entertainment centers, control centers, conference rooms, schools and corporate training environments.

FSR’s DR-PCB-H2.0-xxM Digital Ribbon Cables utilize a proprietary technology to allow high-speed, high-definition HDMI signal transmission over distances of up to 165 ft. The new noir cable is fitted with a discrete black jacket that allows the cable to blend in where it would otherwise be visible after installation. The hybrid polymer/copper cables deliver a speed of 18 Gb/sec video bandwidth and can easily handle up to 4k 60Hz@4:4:4 HDR uncompressed HDMI video. The cables come pre-terminated in convenient lengths.

These plug-and-play, hot-swappable DisplayPort active optical cables are the best solution available for true 4K/60Hz/4:4:4 content delivery over longer distances. They feature high-bandwidth video transmission, low power consumption, and low EMI with patented polymer optical fiber technology.

This is a solution for ultra-high-definition video distribution in video walls, houses of worship, digital signage and many other commercial and residential home theater and gaming applications. Long-reach DisplayPort active optical cables provide optical performance at the price and simplicity of copper, giving the user a complete connectivity solution at a low total cost.

The HuddleVU Air is a four-input auto-switching presentation unit that has two HDMI in, one VGA in and one wireless input. Devices which use Android or iOS, can display video directly. An app is available for PC users. This 4K scaling switcher supports Apple AirPlay and Miracast. The HuddleVU Air can be controlled via Ethernet or RS232.
