FOR-A to Participate at SVG College Summit

fora-logoCypress, CA, May 28, 2013 – FOR-A Corporation of America announces its plans for this week’s Sports Video Group College Sports Summit, which takes place May 29-30 at the Hyatt Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. The company will showcase its products that are ideal for college sports production, including an HD super slow motion camera, video writer and video production switcher (Booth 205). The SVG College Sports Summit brings together the leaders in college sports production to discuss technology and how to monetize college sports assets.

“We offer a number of solutions that are perfect for college sports applications,” said Pedro Silvestre, FOR-A America’s Sales Director. “The SVG College Sports Summit is a great chance for us to highlight these products to the top leaders in college sports production and discuss the ways that FOR-A technology can benefit their productions.”

FOR-A will have its VFC-7000 HD variable frame rate super slow motion camera on display at the event. The lightweight, easy-to-operate camera has been the recipient of numerous broadcast awards for its technical excellence. The VFC-7000 offers high-speed play out and recording in full frame HD at up to 700 fps, and allows for the recording speed to be varied from 24 fps to 700 fps.  Featuring an electronic high-speed shutter that can operate as fast as 1/200,000 second for filming fast moving events and subjects without blur, the camera is ideal for use in sports applications.

FOR-A’s FT-ONE full 4K super slow motion camera will also be highlighted at the SVG College Sports Summit. The camera’s high-sensitivity CMOS color sensor, FT1-CMOS, enables high-speed recording at up to 900 frames per second (fps). The unit captures images as uncompressed raw data on the system’s internal memory, which has a recording capacity of 9.4 seconds. This data is then stored on one of two hot-swappable SSD cartridges, which are capable of storing 84 seconds of full 4K resolution images each. The FT-ONE has been used for a variety of major sporting events, including last February’s championship football game in New Orleans.

FOR-A will also display its HVS-390HS video switcher – a compact, cost-effective solution in the company’s line of reliable switchers. The HVS-390HS comes standard with 16 HD/SD-SDI inputs and eight outputs plus an HDMI output, with frame synchronizers for all inputs. With the addition of optional input/output boards, the system expands to 24 inputs and 13 outputs.

The FVW-500 video writer will also be demoed. Enabling freehand drawing and positioning of objects and image files over SD or HD video, the unit is a perfect solution for use in replay commentary in sports broadcasts. The FVW-500HS allows users to draw in real time through a touch screen interface and features pre-programmed graphic shapes for ease of use.
