FOR-A Details New IMPULSE Software-Based Production Platform; Launches 60 x 30 3G Matrix and 16-Input Switch
FOR-A America has launched FOR-A IMPULSE, a software-based production platform that consolidates the functions of FOR-A and third-party products into a single host processor. Short for Integrated Media Platform with UnLimited StructureE, FOR-A IMPULSE offers signal processing, multiview, switching, graphics, audio mixing, and media playback as software function nodes. Operators can connect these nodes within the platform’s graph editor to build and adjust production pipelines. As a software-based system, the platform is easily reconfigurable based on specific applications and can evolve into a cloud-based solution for hybrid operations.
Products powered by FOR-A IMPULSE include:
The HANABI switcher, a 4RU switch with 60 inputs and 30 outputs at 3G, software-upgradable to 12G with up to 42 inputs and 21 outputs, along with options for NDI cards and Dante I/O modules. The HANABI series includes the HVS-190S/190I and HVS-490.
The FOR-A Mixboard, a software-based switcher that uses a software-defined architecture for broadcast and live production. It is available in 16-input and 8-input versions.
