Extron’s HDCP Compliant HDMI Matrix Boards Now Shipping
Last week, Extron announced the immediate availability of HDCP-compliant HDMI matrix boards for the SMX System MultiMatrix, Extron’s modular, field-configurable matrix switching platform.
Available in I/O sizes from 4×4 to 8×8, the new SMX HDMI matrix boards are HDMI 1.3 compatible and have been designed with a number of key, intelligent technologies for HomeAV integration, including HDCP Status Reporting and Compliance Checking, which actively reads and reports HDCP status for all connected sources and displays; and EDID Minder, which automatically manages EDID communication between the display and input source. In addition they feature Input Equalization to compensate for weak source signals or signal loss due to long or poor quality cables, and Output Re-clocking which restores signal amplitude, timing, and clock rate; resulting in a signal that’s equal to or better than the original.
The SMX HDMI Series Matrix Switcher Boards are designed for routing HDMI video signals with HDCP – High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. They support computer video to 1920×1200 and HDTV to 1080p as well as embedded audio and control signals, and enable the routing of content from Blu-ray Disc players and other content-protected sources to one or more displays. SMX HDMI matrix boards provide +5 VDC, 250 mA of power on each output for external peripheral devices.
