Extron Intros DisplayPort Fiber Optic Extenders
Extron has expanded its FOX3 fiber optic platform with the introduction of four new DisplayPort fiber optic extenders. These extenders support long-distance transmission of DisplayPort video, USB, stereo audio, control, infrared (IR), and 3D sync signals over fiber optic cabling. Designed for high-resolution image performance, the new extenders deliver pixel-for-pixel, uncompressed 4K/60 at 4:4:4 over two fibers or mathematically lossless 4K/60 at 4:4:4 over a single fiber.
The FOX3 321 extenders include a USB port that supports USB 2.0 to 1.0 devices, along with a USB HID port that allows device class filtering to restrict connections to HID (human interface device) peripherals. The FOX3 331 extenders only include a USB HID port, offering an additional layer of security for applications that require controlled access.
Designed for AV and KVM systems, the FOX3 DisplayPort extenders feature EDID Minder, audio embedding and de-embedding, Ethernet monitoring and control, audio gain and attenuation, and real-time system monitoring. These integrator-friendly tools streamline installation and management, ensuring reliable and high-quality fiber optic signal transmission.
