The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has modernized its Classroom K at the Ultuna campus with an integrated Extron AV system that supports both traditional instruction and videoconferencing. The 100-seat space now features a complete Extron solution designed to simplify operations, ensure reliability, and enhance learning flexibility.

AV integrator Atea managed the installation as part of SLU’s ongoing classroom modernization program. The system is anchored by Extron’s DTP CrossPoint 84 presentation matrix switcher, which combines video switching, audio processing, and system control in a compact form factor.

“We’ve supported SLU through hundreds of AV installations, and Extron has consistently been the right choice,” said Mikael Brodén, specialist salesperson at Atea. “Their products are dependable, well-documented, and easy to integrate; qualities that matter when you’re rolling out dozens of systems every year.”

The installation includes DTP transmitters and receivers for signal extension, a TLP Pro 725C Cable Cubby TouchLink Pro touchpanel for control, and a DMP 64 Plus audio processor paired with CA 163 column array speakers and an XPA U 2002 SB amplifier to deliver clear, intelligible sound. USB Extender Plus units integrate conferencing peripherals to support hybrid instruction.

Completed on schedule and within budget, the system has been well received by faculty and technical staff. The dual-panel design separates AV and conferencing functions between Extron and Cisco interfaces, allowing instructors to operate the system easily. Ongoing updates are managed by Extron-certified technicians as SLU continues expanding a future-ready AV infrastructure across its campuses.
