Extron Brings Cable Raceway System, Twisted Pair Matrix Switchers and Surface Mount Speakers to InfoComm

Extron introduced a far more attractive way to route cables, data connectors, and power cords with the new AVTrac, a low-profile, floor-mounted cable raceway system with a modular AAP – Architectural Adapter Plate enclosure. It is designed for use in any environment where A/V devices require connectivity but are not positioned near a wall or other area where power, data, and A/V connections are usually located. AVTrac is the perfect solution to an interior designer’s challenge in dealing with power poles, poke-through devices, trenching, and raised access flooring.

The AVTrac is UL/CUL listed and compliant with ADA standards for slope and rise. The raceway system includes the low-profile 8′ (2.4 m) track, as well as two 8′ side ramps and two end transition ramps designed to be installed underneath commercial grade carpet. AVTrac is available in two models: The AVTrac 480C accommodates matching carpet in the aluminum raceway top cap, and the AVTrac 480R includes a black Roppe rubber strip for installation in the top cap in place of a carpet inlay.

The new MTPX Plus Series Twisted Pair Matrix Switchers are uniquely designed with dynamic skew compensation, RS-232 control signal insertion, local audio/video inputs and outputs, and level and peaking compensation. Available in six fixed I/O sizes from 8×16 to 32×32, MTPX Plus Series twisted pair matrix switchers can route high resolution video and audio signals 1,000 feet or more over CAT 5, 5e, or 6 UTP cable. Extron says the MTPX Plus Series simplifies A/V system integration and uses active signal compensation for consistent image quality. These are compatible with Extron MTP Series twisted pair transmitters, receivers, and distribution amplifiers.

Extron also introduced the System INTEGRATOR SI 3, a compact, full-range surface mount speaker designed particularly for small to medium classrooms where wall space for speaker placement is at a premium due to projector screens, pull-down maps, and white boards. It features a 3″ (7.6 cm) full-range driver, coupled to an exclusive conical baffle that serves to provide a broad dispersion of the mid and high frequencies in order to optimize room coverage – usually hard to get from a compact speaker.

Included with the SI 3 is Extron’s Patent Pending V-Lock mounting hardware, which Extron says makes secure installations easier to accomplish and allows for wide 60° horizontal and 55° vertical travel. The SI 3 is sold in pairs and is available in a black or white finish, and includes a 5 year parts and labor warranty.
