Extron Announces New XTP Input Board that Supports 12G-SDI Data Rates

xtpcp4i12gsdiAnaheim, California (January 20, 2020) – Extron is pleased to introduce the XTP CP 4i 12G‑SDI Board that enables 12G-SDI connectivity within XTP Systems. It supports multi-rate SDI digital video signal data rates up to 11.88 Gbps and passes HDR, embedded audio, along with other ancillary data allowed by the SMPTE and ITU specifications. Incoming signals are automatically equalized to provide optimal signal quality over long cable runs. For added convenience, buffered SDI and HDMI loop-through connections accommodate local displays and additional distribution needs. The input board also facilitates two-channel AES audio extraction, enabling flexible audio management. The XTP CP 4i 12G-SDI hot-swappable board is ideal for enabling 12G-SDI in new and existing XTP applications.

“The XTP CP 4i 12G-SDI input board greatly expands the capabilities of XTP Systems,” Says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Extron. “Customers now have a convenient option for incorporating 4K-capable, multi-rate SDI signals in broadcast, production, medical imaging, and other demanding applications.”

XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending video with resolutions up to 4K/60, audio, RS‑232/IR, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over shielded CATx cable, and up to 10 km (6.21 miles) over fiber optic cable. Each system is HDCP compliant, and delivers ultra-fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron’s SpeedSwitch technology. With hot swappable modular components, a wide selection of XTP transmitters and receivers, and advanced 24/7 system monitoring, XTP Systems are designed to provide continuous, trouble-free operation in the most critical applications.
