Extron Announced Two New 8K-Capable Products

extron

Extron has introduced the DA2 HD 8K AE and DA2 HD 8K AI, two-output 8K HDMI distribution amplifiers designed for professional AV applications. The DA2 HD 8K AE extracts two-channel LPCM audio from an HDMI input and converts it to analog audio, which can be configured for stereo or dual-mono output. The DA2 HD 8K AI allows separate two-channel analog audio input, converting it to 16-bit LPCM audio at 48 kHz for embedding onto the HDMI output signal.

Both models are HDCP 2.3 compliant and feature Extron EDID Minder Plus, which supports additional memory blocks for displays that require extended EDID and DisplayID information. This ensures reliable distribution of 5K and 21:9 aspect ratio content while streamlining system integration.

Designed for commercial AV environments, including presentation venues and esports arenas, the DA2 HD 8K AE and AI provide two HDMI 2.1 outputs supporting data rates up to 40.1 Gbps, HDR, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats. Additional features include input cable equalization, output muting, audio configuration, and Key Minder, which continuously verifies HDCP compliance.

The DA2 HD 8K AI audio embedder also includes audio gain and attenuation adjustments and provides +5 VDC, 250 mA power per output for external devices. With these capabilities, both models support high data rate HDMI signals, making them ideal for distributing standard and ultra-wide aspect ratio content, such as 21:9 and 5K displays.
