Anaheim, California (September 17, 2020) – Extron is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the DTP2 R 212 and the DTP2 R 212 SA, two next generation DTP2 switcher/receivers with all-new performance and capabilities. Both models feature DTP2 inputs designed to work with Extron DTP-enabled products for extending HDMI, audio, and control signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable. In addition, an HDMI input provides connectivity for a video source, such as an Extron ShareLink Pro 1000, located near the display to support collaboration environments. These HDCP 2.3-compliant receivers support data rates up to 18 Gbps and video resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 color sampling. The Ethernet control port supports display control and offers convenient system management. The DTP2 R 212 SA model also features a built-in Class D stereo amplifier.

“These DTP2 R 212 receivers are ideal for small rooms and huddle spaces,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Extron. “The HDMI input, built-in amplifier, and ease of controlling displays bring combined functionality and simplified integration to these environments.”

The DTP2 R 212 and DTP2 R 212 SA enable the reliable, long distance transmission of HDMI signals at up to 18 Gbps with support for HDR, Deep Color up to 12-bit, CEC pass-through, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. A local HDMI input allows connection of an additional video source at the display, which is beneficial in BYOD applications where the display may need to support both a local collaboration appliance and remote sources. The standard version DTP2 R 212 without amplifier can be remotely powered by a DTP2 transmitter over the twisted pair connection. It can also be configured to provide power to the connected DTP2 transmitter.
