EPSON Launches 7000 Lumen “Rental” Projector

EPSON wants to play in rental and staging and they’re tepson-powerlite-0110aking aim with their first model, dubbed the PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL.  It’s specified as a 7000 ANSI lumens (5000:1 contrast ratio), 3LCD projector… that’s only native 1280×800. Hmm? Maybe for video-only applications, it’ll make some showings, but even though it’s compatible with 1080p, you’ll be watching 1080 content at 720p. And, at $18,999, there are other options out there that will make this projector a tough entry for EPSON into rental.

But, if you are interested in giving it a look, check it out at:  http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=63086839

I agree here. After looking over the spec sheets, I am a bit surprised. I must be missing something, and an Epson person is welcome to let me know what it is, but at the price I am underwhelmed.
