The ENTTEC Wave at LDI

the-enttec-waveSurf was up this year at LDI, and the beach could be found at the ENTTEC Americas booth. “The design of the booth was a team effort. The original concept came from our Technical Director Tim Parrish. Then Jeremy Kumin [ENTTEC Americas General Manager], Brandon Mitchell [Technical Sales and Support] and I took the design through its various phases of change and into finalization. Kaitlin Gill was the overall project manager,” explains Crystal Lee, Business Development Manager at ENTTEC Americas. The beach themed booth was also home to Nic’s Place, a fully stocked beach style bar that was also a nod to ENTTEC’s Founder Nic Moreau, who was also in attendance at the booth. To help visitors get into the beach feel, ENTTEC was handing out Pacific blue ENTTEC flip flops and wrap-around sunglasses.

Some LDI exhibitors created a walled off black space to demo their wares; others turned their booth into portable stores, filling every nook and cranny with products. However, in their usual unique style, ENTTEC went in a different direction and used a wide variety of ENTTEC products to create a fun, creative space that attracted visitors as well as demonstrated ENTTEC products in a real life environment.

The wave wall, located opposite the beach bar, was comprised of Phero 33s, Phero 30s and Aleph 2 DX4s. The Phero 33 is a sleek, linear LED bar luminaire ideal for direct lighting applications. It comes in three varieties: the Phero 33 RGB Stealth, the Phero 33 RGB Frosted White and the Phero 33 Clear. The Phero Stealth and the Frosted White, introduced to the public this fall, were an integral part of the display. The Phero Stealth is a unique luminaire that gives the designers the option of having a fixture that virtually disappears when it’s not in use. Working alongside the Phero 33s were the Phero 30 RGB and Phero 30 white; both units feature 30 calibrated, independently controllable pixels. The wave wall was also home to the Aleph ET 2 DX4, a compact linear RGBW LED fixture with outstanding light output density that premiered earlier this year. The scenic blue waves themselves, present on the perimeter of the booth, featured the popular ENTTEC Pixel Dot 4s.

Control for the booth was accomplished using a variety of ENTTEC proprietary products. The ENTTEC Pixelator, Ethergate Mk3, Datagate and numerous Pixie Drivers could be found in the exhibit; programming and pixel mapping was done with E.L.M., the ENTTEC LED Mapper , a software product that was introduced at LDI in 2015. “We had a very enthusiastic reception to all the new features that have been added to ELM since its launch a year ago. It tied the whole booth together and was easily manipulated from a touchscreen, so this was a fantastic booth integration project for our team. It was able to showcase all the pixel products we sell,” notes ENTTEC Americas General Manager, Jeremy Kumin.

For people who were unable to attend LDI this year, ENTTEC will be at several shows in January, including the Stage Lighting Super Saturday in NYC, the Barbizon Charlotte Lighting Extravaganza in Winston Salem NC in January, and at Lighting Technology Chicago located in the Windy City.
