Did you catch EdTech Day during LAVNCH WEEK X? If not, you definitely missed out, but don’t worry, you can still watch it on demand (remember, CTS credits are only available if you caught it live). I’ll give you a sneak peek into what you missed, but if you’re looking for all the juicy details, you’ll just have to watch it yourself.

The day kicked off with a warm welcome from none other than Steph Beckett and Megan A. Dutta. They gave us a preview of what was in store for the day and week, setting the stage for some serious insights into the future of EdTech.

televic

In the first session of the day, Steph was joined by Kyra Johnson, inside sales executive at Televic, who introduced Televic’s Unite System, a wireless communication solution that is already redefining industry standards. With features like multiple transmitter options, professional-grade audio, mini XLR on the transmitter, USB-C, 3.5mm line-in and a configurable charging dock, Unite addresses the typical pain points that come with wireless communication systems. Oh, and did I mention this system is even used in courts? If you want to know more, you’ll have to watch the full session on demand.

The second panel was a heavy-hitter, featuring Steph, who was joined by Jeremy Caldera from Pearl Technology, Annie Foster from Washington and Lee University and Jimmie Singleton from AVI-SPL. They dove deep into the role of AV-over-IP in modern classrooms and what technical considerations are important when adopting these solutions. They also explored how AV-over-IP can create ultra-low-latency environments that enhance collaboration between students and teachers.

“I start all of my processes when I’m trying to figure out what to put into a room with the question of, ‘Can it do what we’re currently doing?’ and make sure that we’re not adding any interruptions or complications to the system,” said Annie Foster. “The options for making our content and our teaching environments more accessible are easier to achieve with AV-over-IP.”

ai in edtech

Megan A. Dutta returned to moderate a fantastic discussion on AI in EdTech, featuring Stefanie Crawford from Illinois Digital Educators Alliance and Vinny Sabharwal from USC. They covered how AI is enhancing the classroom experience, from tools that create reading passages from YouTube videos to personalized content based on reading levels and languages. Vinny took it up a notch with insights into natural language processing systems and how they can help international students adapt. They also touched on how schools are handling AI implementation while safeguarding student data. But if you want the full rundown, you’ll have to — say it with me — watch on demand!

Megan returned again for the EdTech Update with George Chacko from Pace University and Troy Powers from Northwestern University. They broke down recent advancements in EdTech that have transformed both K-12 and higher education, focusing on equitable access to technology in hybrid learning environments. From interactive screens for studying human anatomy to collaboration tools and lecture capture, this session was packed with insights on how tech is reshaping education. If you’re curious, watch the event on demand for all the details.

Closing out the day was Gary Kayye with Carl Harvell from AVer, who discussed how AI camera tracking can lower administrative costs in videoconferencing networks by cutting the need for an AV moderator. They delved into how to create learning equity with AI in hybrid and HyFlex classrooms.

So, that’s a wrap on EdTech Day at LAVNCH WEEK X! I’ve given you just enough to pique your interest, but there’s so much more to uncover. Want to see all the innovations and insights for yourself? Go ahead and watch it on demand, and stay tuned for more recaps every day this week!
