Preview of DSE 2024: Why You Should Attend
Hey, everyone! If you’re as excited as I am for DSE 2024, then you’ll love the preview we got from Steph and Gary (via the LAVNCH platform), who gave us a glimpse into one of the biggest gatherings for digital signage experts and enthusiasts. Whether you’re an integrator, end user, or just curious about the future of DS, this event is for you. Make sure to register here, and use our code RAVE100 for $100 off a conference pass and/or a free expo pass.
Digital signage is one of the fastest-evolving sectors in the AV industry. From beginnings in wayfinding and HR communications, DS has grown to reach advertising, branding, live events, hospitality, museums, and more. Gary suggested the industry needs to shift from “digital signage” to “digital experience,” a term DSE has already embraced with its Digital Signage Experience name. This shift highlights how quickly DS is evolving and becoming an integral part of the way we communicate and interact in the AV world. If you’re wondering what to expect at DSE, you’re in luck! This preview included interviews with key stakeholders who are shaping the event. From exclusive tours and certifications to keynotes and awards, DSE promises to be the ultimate gathering of digital signage experts.
David Drain, show director for DSE, joined Steph to explain that whether you’re just starting to explore DS or you’re already deep in the game, DSE has something for you. “It’s an event for ideas and inspiration as much as it is for gear,” Drain said. He highlighted the event’s focus on tech, strategy, and content. And don’t forget: your DSE badge also gives you access to LDI, DSE’s sister show. Three things to get excited about? Keynotes from Taco Bell’s Chief Digital Officer, an Innovation Park with small-group discussions on emerging topics, and, of course, the announcement of awards for outstanding companies.
Next up, Gary Kayye chatted with Kiersten Gibson, EVP of sales & marketing at Reach Media. Reach Media is announcing a new CMS at DSE that is more scalable and user-friendly than ever before. The cloud-based platform will allow users to easily toggle on and off features, making the publishing process easier for customers. As Gibson pointed out, the focus is on simplifying the day-to-day management of DS content, which is something the industry is always striving for.
As AI continues to make waves in digital signage, Bryan Meszaros, CEO of OpenEye Global, shared his thoughts on the future of DS and experiential design. With more software companies incorporating AI into their platforms, we can expect to see an increase in AI-driven experiences at DSE 2024. Whether it’s personalizing content or enhancing workflow efficiencies, AI is set to revolutionize how we interact with digital signage. Meszaros also talked about a special networking experience, XUSC (Experience United Social Club), which will coincide with DSE in Las Vegas. Look forward to live music and even a Santa sighting! Like Steph said, this is the way to get rid of your fear of networking.
Jonathan Brawn, principal at Brawn Consulting, then spoke with Gary about the importance of staying ahead in the digital signage space. Brawn Consulting offers the first and only digital signage certification program, helping professionals level up their skills. Brawn praised DSE for being a show that’s always focused on emerging technology, providing a space for innovation before these technologies become mainstream.
In this event’s final interview, Steph spoke with Brandy Alvarado-Miranda, CEO of BAM Marketing & PR Agency, who shared her thoughts on some of the most exciting trends in DS. Alvarado-Miranda highlighted sustainability as a key trend in DS, noting that not only does it help our planet, but it also allows companies to offer the stunning visual experiences DS is known for. She also discussed the growing interest in immersive DS technologies, which are pushing the entire industry forward.
