DPA Showcases Enhanced 4099 CORE+ Instrument Microphone and Clip System at 2026 NAMM Show

DPA Microphones will showcase its 4099 CORE+ Instrument Microphone along with redesigned instrument clip solutions at the 2026 NAMM Show, booth 16102.
As the next generation of DPA’s instrument microphone line, the 4099 CORE+ features expanded dynamic range and enhanced distortion-reduction technology designed to deliver greater clarity, control and sonic transparency in both live and studio environments.
The microphone incorporates CORE+ by DPA technology, a patent-pending design that minimizes non-linear distortion in the microphone membrane and circuitry. Compared with the previous generation, the 4099 CORE+ offers an additional 10 dB of dynamic range and a higher clipping point, allowing it to capture greater detail and nuance across a wide range of instruments.
“The original DPA 4099 has long been the go-to for professional musicians and sound engineers around the world,” said Helga Volha Somava, product management director at DPA Microphones. “The 4099 CORE+ carries forward that legacy while elevating the microphone with next-level performance, maintaining the iconic tonal characteristics that users love, but introducing new technology that pushes the boundaries of studio and live sound.”
Alongside the microphone, DPA has introduced a redesigned mounting system intended to improve usability and stability across a broader range of instruments. Central to the update is the new Gooseneck Mount (G-MOUNT), which features a two-step locking mechanism that enables precise one-hand positioning. The mount also provides improved vibration isolation and is backward compatible with many existing DPA clips.
Several existing clips, including options for cello, piano and microphone stands, have been refined to enhance adaptability and acoustic performance. A new XLR-MOUNT expands compatibility by allowing users to mount 19 mm pencil microphones or XLR adapters.
The 4099 CORE+ also features DPA’s MicroLock connector, designed to provide increased durability and connection reliability in demanding performance environments. Updated shock mounting and wind protection further enhance the microphone system’s robustness and flexibility.
