Do You Maximize Black Friday?

great-dealsAs a custom audio visual integrator I used to hate the Black Friday / Cyber Monday weekend! I bet you did too! Don’t even play like you didn’t, I KNOW you did, I KNOW IT! We have always looked at this weekend as the start of our customers bugging us about pricing on TVs. Every job we have on the go is being looked at but the customers asking “Why isn’t my TV the same price as this one….”!

Yeah, we all know how this goes… and how it ends! But this isn’t what I want to talk about. All of us in the industry know that these deals, although they are good deals, aren’t the best TV’s or the right TV! But more importantly why aren’t we as CI’s (or ESC’s… I love youCEDIA) taking advantage of this weekend. Now you’re looking at me funny… I KNOW YOU ARE!
What I’m taking about is… Yes, we can’t compete with the big box stores on TV sales, etc. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t and shouldn’t take advantage of this weekend. Now I can’t speak for everyone, but this is what we do…
We run a “LET US FINISH IT!” campaign. We know that a lot of our customers are going to be out there and be shopping and, most importantly, be purchasing. But will they be installing it? Probably not! Will that have purchased a full system, probably not. This is one of those times when most of us shy away. We hide from this holiday like it’s the plague. And WHY? Just because a big box is blowing out some cheap TVs… Who cares! We are leaving money on the table when we hide from this holiday. We can take advantage of this weekend. It’s time to step up to the plate and sell the add ons that aren’t being addressed by everyone else! LET US FINISH IT!
Happy Thanksgiving!
