Disguise Expands AI Tool for Production Workflow in Major Update

Disguise has rolled out a major update to Ask AId3n, its AI-powered workflow assistant for the company’s Designer Pro platform. The tool, now enhanced with capabilities to automate complex and repetitive tasks, aims to significantly reduce programming time for live events, virtual productions and other high-volume media environments.

The update introduces new features that allow users to generate custom tools, sequence timelines and set up screen configurations with minimal input. By typing a request into Ask AId3n’s chat interface, production teams can delegate time-consuming tasks like creating layers, setting keyframes or building project structures for venues and events.

Disguise says the assistant is powered by Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro and integrates with the Disguise Cloud platform, enabling teams to share tools across an organization and reuse them for future projects.

Once a user inputs a complex instruction — such as setting up stage and screen configurations for a specific venue or creating dynamic content for an awards ceremony — Ask AId3n generates a tailored tool that can be executed with a click. All tools are saved to the user’s Disguise Cloud account and made available to collaborators.

The update also supports quick fixes and troubleshooting. Users can manually edit the Python code generated by the assistant or use follow-up prompts to refine its output. Disguise says Ask AId3n is fully trained on the company’s user documentation, allowing it to serve as a fast reference for software guidance.

Disguise’s updates to Ask AId3n follow a broader industry trend of leveraging AI to simplify creative workflows and reduce labor-intensive setup times for live and virtual productions.
