Denon Intros AVR-X1700H AV Receiver With Updated Streaming and Connection Capabilities

Denon AVR X1700H AV ReceiverDenon introduced the new 7.2-channel AVR-X1700H high-performance AV Receiver (AVR). It offers three 8K HDMI inputs, immersive 3D surround formats and built-in HEOS multi-room music streaming technology. The Denon AVR-X1700H supports the latest surround sound formats, including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X. Both Dolby and DTS technologies add virtualized height and surround sound effects to recreate audio in 7.1, 5.1 or 2.1 speaker arrangements. 

Other features of the new receiver include:

  • Seven channels of amplification at 80W per channel (8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, THD: 0.08%, 2ch driven).
  • Advanced HDMI section with six-input/one-output HDMI board.
  • Three 8K inputs supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video pass-through up to 40Gbps.
  • All HDMI inputs offer 4:4:4 Pure Color sub sampling, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), Dynamic HDR and BT.2020 pass-through support.
  • 8K upscaling on all inputs.
  • HDCP 2.3.
  • Connects via eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel).
  • 4K/120Hz pass-through.
  • Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for gaming.
  • Compatible with Apple AirPlay 2.
  • Front-panel USB port offers audio playback of high-resolution audio formats (WAV, FLAC, ALAC and DSD 2.8/5.6 MHz files) from a variety of players.
  • Wireless connectivity to streaming music services like Spotify, Pandora, Tidal and more.
  • Bluetooth or HEOS built-in technology.

The AVR-X1700H is $699 and will be available starting November 2021.
