Datapath experiencing explosive growth in the Americas

Datapath has been busy implementing a number of strategies for growth in the Americas; strategies that are now starting to see rewards in terms of growing demand for the company’s advanced range of products.

The initiatives are being spearheaded by Mark Bohs who, following a recent promotion, has taken up the newly-created position of Director of Sales, covering North, Central and South America.

“I was a customer of Datapath before I joined the business in May 2016,” he says. “I worked at YCD Multimedia, who make advanced digital signage platforms, so I knew all about the products and reputation of Datapath. I also knew there was enormous potential to extend Datapath’s reach in the American marketplace.”

Mark is being assisted with fulfilling this potential by Keven Yue, who joined Datapath in November 2016 as Senior Sales Manager for Western USA. Keven is based in Orange County, California, thus offering much closer liaison with customers in the west of the country, who would have previously been served from the company’s US headquarters on the East Coast, in Pennsylvania.

“There are many notable markets in Western USA that can now be better provisioned by a dedicated representative for the region,” says Mark. “Keven has lots of experience in visual solutions and is already making notable progress.”

Mark and Keven are supported by Brian Gemminger, Sales and Account Manager, and Datapath Technical Support Team, which is continuing to grow with further recruitment ongoing. Datapath’s growing Operations and Support center in Philadelphia is increasingly busy, and in mind of this rapidly growing team and efforts, Angela Vennera has recently been promoted to the position of Office Manager after three years with the business.

Further commitment to Datapath’s growing presence in the Americas will see Greg Babbs, Sales and Account Manager, transfer from his current base in the UK to join the US team. Greg has extensive experience in handling accounts in Latin America and will be able to develop these relationships further from closer quarters. Mike Moore, Business Development Manager, will also be transferring from the UK to assist with growing coverage of the region. Both will make the switch across the Atlantic at the end of April 2017.

“The team here is growing fast as we extend the reach of Datapath across the Americas,” says Mark. “In fact, we are looking to recruit yet more sales people in the very near future.”

One of the ways that Datapath is growing its brand awareness in the US is through exhibitions. Indeed, the most important show of the year is coming up, InfoComm 2017, which takes place on June 14-16 in Orlando, Florida. Datapath will exhibit at InfoComm from a creative 1,500 sq ft island booth (number 4033).

In a further initiative, late last year Datapath appointed Starin as a national distributor in the US. Starin oversees more than 5000 authorised ProAV dealers, a network that is helping to build awareness in North America. This is not just important for Datapath’s class-leading technologies, but for the company’s growth and product-line expansion into large enterprise collaboration and prestige digital signage.

“We see markets such as digital signage and security as emerging markets where we can make significant gains,” states Mark. “As a result, we are being aggressive in our sales and marketing strategies in both of these sectors.”

Datapath-branded products already proving successful in the American marketplace include the recently-launched, next-generation Fx4 multi-display controller, which offers four outputs from a single box, and the new VisionLC range of cost-effective and compact video capture cards. Also popular is the iolite range of discreet video wall controllers for small- to medium-scale walls.

“We’ve seen explosive growth in the past 12 months, which means we’re coming off the back of a very positive 2016,” concludes Mark. “However, we are now looking to build on this throughout 2017 and beyond. We will continue to target emerging markets and will further grow our team to support the potential that Datapath has to offer in the Americas.”
