Daktronics Inks Agreement with CREE LED
Cree LED, the inventor of the blue LED, and Daktronics have entered into a multi-year, global patent license agreement effective December 2024. The agreement, with limited exceptions, grants Daktronics a license to use Cree LED’s patented technology for the duration of the contract.
Cree LED, with more than 35 years of expertise in LED die and packaging technology, has a substantial portfolio of patents protecting its innovations in LED displays. The company is committed to advancing durable solutions that meet the demands of next-generation LED displays.
The agreement allows Daktronics to confidently market its LED display systems without concerns over claims related to the licensed Cree LED patents.
The terms of the agreement remain confidential. However, the license ensures no patent disputes between the two parties for the duration of the agreement.
