Crestron Debuts New HomeAV Remotes, a New Digital Graphics Engine and Third Party Integrations
Crestron has announced new product updates, features, and integrations focused on smart home living with the latest release of Crestron Home OS 4.4. The update includes expanded automation, energy monitoring, climate control, and new hardware to enhance the user experience.
Key Updates in Crestron Home OS 4.4:
- Real-Time Energy and Water Insights: The integration of HomeWizard, via a driver developed by TIG, provides homeowners with data on electricity, gas, and water usage. This allows for better energy management, cost savings, and sustainable practices.
- Weather-Based Automation: The Crestron Home platform now integrates with the Tempest Weather System, enabling real-time automation based on hyperlocal weather conditions. Homes can adjust shades, shutters, and outdoor systems in response to sunlight, wind, and rain.
- EV Charging and Tesla Integration: The Phoenix CHARX integration and TIG driver allow homeowners to manage EV charging. A Tesla integration, developed by Intrinsic Dev, provides controls for HVAC preconditioning, charging status, and lock settings within the Crestron Home app.
- Expanded KNX Integration: Crestron is introducing expanded KNX device compatibility, simplifying integration with lighting, door controls, shades, and power outlets. The 1Home CH Server and 1Home Integration Driver for Crestron Home OS streamline KNX setup without complex programming.
- Simplified Climate Control: Crestron Home OS now supports updated drivers for Airzone and CoolAutomation, making HVAC integration easier by eliminating additional wiring and programming requirements.
New Hardware:
- Crestron Digital Graphics Engine (DGE-1000): This new engine enables the Crestron Home OS interface to be displayed on large third-party screens, combining display, control, and streaming capabilities into a single device.
- Refreshed TSR-310 and HR-310 Remotes: Crestron has updated its TSR-310 and HR-310 remotes with a new white finish and textured back for improved aesthetics and functionality.
These updates enhance the Crestron Home experience by improving automation, expanding integrations, and simplifying smart home control.
