Crestron Expands Intelligent Video Capabilities With Visual AI Features
Crestron has introduced new features to its Automate VX multi-camera speaker tracking system, aiming to improve collaboration in hybrid meeting environments. The update includes Visual AI Direction, a tool designed to enhance videoconferencing by automatically selecting the best camera angle based on a speaker’s position and facial orientation.
The Visual AI Direction feature allows cameras to switch seamlessly between views, ensuring that remote participants see speakers clearly rather than capturing the sides or backs of their heads. The system uses edge AI to track where a person is looking and adjusts the camera view accordingly, aiming to create a more natural experience for both in-person and virtual attendees.
Unlike single-camera setups that rely on fixed angles, Automate VX leverages multiple cameras to maintain a dynamic and engaging meeting experience. Crestron says this approach reduces the need for manual intervention, helping virtual participants stay focused and improving overall meeting flow.
The latest update also introduces enhancements to Intelligent Video Room Designer, a software tool that allows users to configure room layouts before installation. New features include the ability to add and adjust virtual furniture, such as tables and chairs, to improve space planning and visualization.
Another addition, Breadcrumbs, is designed to refine audio tracking. The system collects data from the past 100 microphone audio pickups, allowing IT teams to analyze room usage and adjust microphone placement for better audio accuracy. This feature helps accommodate moving presenters and shifting seating arrangements by improving speaker tracking over time.
Crestron’s Automate VX updates are available now, continuing the company’s push to streamline video collaboration technology.
