Cooper Leaf Media Analyzes AV Industry Awards in Recent Report

unnamed 17

After a well-received initial study in 2019, AV Marketing specialist Copper Leaf Media has revisited the important topic of industry awards, for the first time since the pandemic, with the 2022 edition of their AV, broadcast and pro audio awards research.

The document seeks to demystify the awards industry, providing empirical data to help people understand each award, how they are judged and how much publicity each award program delivers.

“This year, we’re giving this information away for the benefit of the industry,” explains Copper Leaf director Roland Hemming. “We hope it helps the industry decide which awards are best for them to enter and also encourages some awards organizers to raise their game.”

Whilst there are some standout awards, the report is generally quite critical. Many awards need to be more transparent about how they operate and need more robust judging procedures. A few awards have a clear pattern of repeat winners.

“Since our last report, we have significantly expanded the scope of the awards covered and, of course, have three more years of results to add. We’ve also expanded the depth of our research by distributing detailed online forms to all award organizers to accompany our telephone interviews and specifically investigated their focus on diversity and sustainability,” adds director Kiera Leeming.

The document is available to download for free on the Copper Leaf Media website.
