Contemporary Research Upgrades Power Output of 232-Amp+
Contemporary Research has upgraded its 232-Amp Stereo Mixer/Amplifier to the 232-Amp+, increasing power to 32/40W RMS from 16/32W.
The 232-Amp+ is a compact, programmable mixer/amplifier aimed at ProAV systems with flat-panel displays and video projectors where you want to take the audio out of the display and convert it from line to speaker level audio. This amp features a stereo line-level display/projector audio input, two mono aux inputs and outputs stereo sound at 32 watts RMS at 8 ohms or 40W at 4 ohms. It’s small enough to hide or velcro behind the HDTV.
The aux inputs mix levels with the stereo input and can be set to mute or lower other inputs when active, ideal for wireless mics and paging applications. The Class D amplifier is highly energy-efficient, using 90 percent of DC power for amplification, operating with very little heat and consuming almost no power at all when quiet. It’s also integrated with RS232 control for ProAV applications.
