COMM-TEC Day-1 Observations

The COMM-TEC S14 show here in Uhingen, Germany is all about networking. No, not IT networking, people networking.

The night started with a dinner with 200 or so of COMM-TEC’s closest friends (aka AV integrators) along with about 60 COMM-TEC folks in a giant tent attached to the COMM-TEC headquarters. A full three-course buffet was served and it all culminated in a raffle of AV products – including Chief mounts, Barco ClickShare (the most popular freebie), a Panasonic display and about 12 or so more things only us AV’ers can appreciate.

The night was led by COMM-TEC’s Managing Director Sales & Marketing, Rainer Sprinzl, who welcomed the crowd to stay around, meet-and-greet and, even though the show floor of nearly 50 exhibitors isn’t quite open yet, he offered them s sneak peek by keeping the doors open during the entire reception. And, it’s 22:00 hrs and the place is still packed.

Also, I grabbed COMM-TEC founder, Wolfgang Lenz, and he recorded a rAVe RADIO podcast with me. You can listen to that here.
