ClearOne to Debut Beamforming Microphone Array at InfoComm
ClearOne will release what the company claims is the industry’s first pro-grade microphone array with audio beamforming that has adaptive steering and AEC (acoustic echo cancellation) technology. The beamforming microphone array has 24 microphone elements that can steer its pickup pattern towards participants in the room and reject unwanted noise and reflections. It can be configured to operate in mono or stereo mode.
Powered using standard Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology, the Beamforming Microphone Array works with ClearOne’s CONVERGE Pro 840T, 880, 880T and 880TA Pro Audio mixers connected through a G-link expansion port. Up to three Beamforming Microphone Arrays can be daisy-chained per each CONVERGE Pro for expanded coverage and configuration is managed through the CONVERGE Console software. It won’t ship until August, however.
You’ll have to wait until InfoComm for all the specs because it’s not on the ClearOne site yet.
