Cisco TelePresence Supposedly Hits $200 Million

CiscoTelePresence-0110Banker fees for the Cisco/Tandberg deal will total $39 million, but it seems Cisco can afford it. Celebrating the three-year anniversary of launching TelePresence, TelePresence revenues once again grew in excess of 100 percent year over year.

Last business quarter Cisco used their own system for 77,000 internal meetings and they claim they sold more than 570 systems adding about 85 new customers.

Cisco SVP Marthin De Beer says the combined annual product and service revenue run rate for TelePresence was slightly higher than $200 million, after almost 100 percent growth over the last year.

Previously, all Cisco TelePresence installations were handled by in-house Cisco technicians. Demand for TelePresence specialization among Cisco partners is finally sufficient for designing the certification: in November, Cisco finally began granting certifications to channel partners to build and support TelePresence deployments.
