Chyron Unreal Engine-Based PRIME VSAR 2.1 is Entry-Level Virtual Production That Adds NDI and Camera Tracking

chyron

Chyron has released PRIME VSAR 2.1, the latest version of its Unreal Engine-based virtual set and augmented reality (AR) engine designed for producers and daily news productions. This release brings compatibility with Unreal Engine 5.4, nDisplay, NDI streams, and IP-based camera tracking protocols, making it easier than ever to deliver engaging virtual and hybrid productions.

With integration for Unreal Engine 5.4 and Unreal nDisplay, PRIME VSAR 2.1 enables producers to display virtual content across ultra-large or non-standard LED walls using multiple stitched outputs. Combined with PRIME VSAR’s internal Cesium camera tracking, the system generates realistic parallax effects on LED walls using real studio camera movement.

Version 2.1 introduces hybrid tracking functionality, allowing seamless switching between tracked and trackless cameras within a virtual set—even between cameras using different tracking systems. These transitions are interpolated to create smooth, dynamic scene changes and engaging storytelling possibilities.

Other enhancements include NDI inputs and outputs for virtual production and expanded support for IP-based camera tracking protocols, reinforcing PRIME VSAR 2.1’s place as a go-to platform for flexible and modern virtual production workflows.
