Christie Names Sean James Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Service

Christie has appointed Sean James as executive vice president of Global Sales and Service, expanding his leadership role to oversee both the company’s sales function and service organization.

“Sean’s proven leadership, combined with his ability to foster strong, lasting relationships, makes him highly qualified to lead our sales and service teams,” said Michael Phipps, president and chief operating officer at Christie. “His extensive experience in visual technologies and services uniquely positions him to lead our optimized operations, allowing us to better serve our customers while ensuring long-term sustainability.”

Extensive Experience in AV and Cinema Solutions

James brings more than 28 years of experience at Christie, having started his career as a field engineer servicing cinema equipment. He played a key role in developing support programs and establishing relationships with leading Hollywood studios during the transition to digital cinema.

He was instrumental in deploying the world’s first large-scale digital cinema rollout, overseeing nearly 4,000 screens across the U.S. James also led the development of Christie’s first Network Operations Center (NOC), later expanding it globally.

Previously, James led Christie’s Enterprise and Entertainment division, driving the company’s expansion in both markets. His leadership has strengthened Christie’s position as a global AV solutions provider, particularly in cinema, themed entertainment, government, and live and public events.

New Leadership Structure

As part of the company’s reorganization, the following leaders will report to James:

  • Josh Kolbeck, vice president, Sales, Americas
  • Adil Zerouali, vice president, Sales, EMEA
  • Han Kim, vice president, Sales, APAC
  • Mike Marsh, director, Professional Services, Americas
  • Ian Tyler, senior director, Professional Services, EMEA and Global Training
  • Ken Liew, senior director, Professional Services, APAC

In his expanded role, James will focus on strengthening customer relationships, optimizing sales and service operations, and driving growth across global markets.
