CEDIA Foundation Launches ‘100 Techs in 100 Days’ Workforce Development Campaign
The CEDIA Foundation has launched a global workforce development campaign, “100 Techs in 100 Days,” aimed at expanding access to careers in the smart home industry. Running from May 12 through Aug. 20, 2025, the initiative will fund technical training for 100 aspiring technicians.
Participants accepted into the program will receive free access to CEDIA Smart Home Fundamentals, an online course that covers essential skills such as infrastructure wiring, tool usage, safety practices and jobsite readiness.
The campaign is designed to support individuals from underserved communities, as well as veterans, career changers and students, by reducing barriers to entering the smart home technology field.
“Strengthening our workforce is one of the most important investments we can make to secure the future of our industry,” said David Weinstein, chair of the CEDIA Foundation. “I’m deeply grateful for the early support of our members whose generous donations have helped bring 100 Techs in 100 Days to life so quickly.”
The CEDIA Foundation is encouraging CEDIA members, educators and industry partners to help promote the campaign by referring candidates or contributing financially.
“CEDIA members are our best allies in getting this campaign off the ground because no one can describe this industry better than those already living it,” said Tara Guertin, the foundation’s operations and workforce development manager. “Whether it’s a family member, a tech-savvy neighbor, or a student in your class looking for their next step, a conversation or shared link could spark a life-changing career.”
To apply for the CEDIA Foundation Workforce Development Award, individuals must complete the application by Aug. 20.
