Canon Debuts Native 4K Projector
Canon Europe today announced a new 4K laser projector, the XEED 4K5020Z, which is a compact 4K LCoS laser projector. The new projector allows for installation in any 360-degree orientation and uses a spigot lens fitting. It’s compatible with seven interchangeable Canon lenses, including the new RS-SL07RST 4K lens. It features a 1.76x motorized zoom and +/- 73 percent vertical lens shift with minimal flare and field curvature. Specified at 5,000 lumens, the XEED 4K5020Z lasts 20,000 hours and also includes HDMI (8-bit color) and HDBaseT.
The XEED 4K5020Z is native 4,096×2,160 and uses two DisplayPort inputs to allow for uncompressed 4K 60p 10-bit RGB (4:4:4) video. Canon’s dual image engine, inside the XEED 4K5020Z, handles blending, domed projection and other creative installations.
