Cannes’ Film Festival has chosen Volfoni as Exclusive Technical Partner for its 3D systems

The Festival de Cannes and Volfoni, both French and at the same time global players in cinema, have signed a three-year partnership by which Volfoni will power the festival’s 3D features. The agreement insures a capacity of over
5 000 3D glasses and all the necessary 3D projector side systems to the festival. It will allow a perfect 3D entertainment to the festival audience and the film market professionals.

Since the digital revolution offered the cinema a high quality 3D solution, this unique immersive cinematographic experience has seduced the most noble screens and festivals around the world. From “UP” (Pete Docter, Bob Peterson, 2009) to “Love” (Gaspar Noé, 2015), the Cannes Film Festival has been welcoming first class 3D films, as well as its jury presidents such as Wim Wenders, Tim Burton, Steven Spielberg, or for this year’s edition George Miller, who are extraordinary 3D creators. They mastered to put the additional technical dimension at the service of the story.

“Volfoni is proud and honored to partner up with the Festival de Cannes for its 3D installations. We are excited to provide every festival guest on every single seat a stunning 3D experience” says Thierry Henkinet, President of Volfoni.

The creative and patented innovations from Volfoni, such as the EDGE glasses or the SmartCrystal™ Diamond, have been endorsed by film exhibitors and technologies peers through numerous awards, most notably the prestigious technology award from the International 3D Society and the Korean International Film Festival. They also made Volfoni the first company recognized by Hollywood Studios for both active and passive 3D solutions.
