Brother International Corporation Enters Videoconferencing Market
If you were a company making printers, you’d be trying to diversify now too. Brother International Corporation launched its foray into videoconferencing last week in the form of the NW-1000 Web-cam and VT-1000 speakerphone, adding to its newly-launched cloud-based OmniJoin Web Conferencing service.
Printer companies see themselves as experts in SMB and SOHO technology and so the product range extension comes natural, in their mind.
Brother’s Web-cam and speakerphone work with most any Web conferencing service, but are optimized to work with the company’s own branded OmniJoin Web Conferencing service. The VT-1000 Speakerphone (list $100) allows users to connect their desktops, laptops or even smartphones to the device for what the company claim is HD-quality audio conferencing. The NW-1000 Webcam (list $100) does the same, plus adds HD video quality to the call.
